1 King William Street is an exceptional new office development by LEO. Complete with a private roof terrace the development offers outstanding views across the historical heart of London’s banking district, effortlessly blending heritage with modernity.
ARTIQ Lead Art Consultant Tazie Taysom worked directly with Mira Calvey, Deputy Operations Director at LEO to develop a collection of fine art photography for the meeting rooms, customer lounge and office space.
Reflecting the heritage of the development, Tazie utilised ARTIQ’s partnership with the British Museum and British Library to procure a series of vintage photography prints that depict London cityscapes of the past in warm, black and white.
A pioneer of painting and printmaking techniques since the 1960’s and one of the first British art-students to use the medium of acrylic paint, Tazie turned to the work of ARTIQ artist Colin Ruffell to reflect the modernity and state of the art facilities of the development.
Colin’s vivid, abstract interpretations of London fill the space with colour, texture and shape and elegantly enhance the modernist nuances of the design.
