ARTIQ CURATE HOTEL ART COLLECTION FOR STUNNING TRANSFORMATION OF PRINCIPAL EDINBURGH CHARLOTTE SQUARE
The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square is a Grade II*-listed hotel, situated in the heart of Scotland’s historic capital. As the fourth hotel to open within the Principal brand, the property has undergone a multi-million-pound restoration and refurbishment, lead by designers at Goddard Littlefair to create a wonderful new interior, inspired by the golden age of travel and a ‘cosmopolitan clubhouse’ feel.
ARTIQ’s Head of Operations, Katie Terres, worked closely with the designers and the hotel to curate the art programme for the bedrooms, suites and all public areas, developing together an innovative brief focused around a character-led narrative of a global nomad private owner, whose myriad art works, antiquities and objects have been collected from the fantasy character’s worldwide adventures, to ensure the hotel interior had a strong story and eclectic, residential feel.
