Purpose of the role
This role will cover the period in the lead up to, during, and after the maternity leave of the Commercial Director. You will have line management responsibilities for 4x Managers across 3 departments and a total of 6 direct reports. You will also have access to support from the Commercial Director’s shared EA (reporting to the COO).
The core function of the role is to ensure consistent, clear management of the Sales and Marketing departments and to ensure that headline and specific financial targets are met.
Key to this role will be maintaining excellent client servicing standards, troubleshooting and nurturing talent. You will be supported in your role by the CEO, Sales Leads and our Marketing Manager. You will work closely with other department heads and with the Senior Management Team, regularly feeding back and reporting on team and sales performance, making suggestions for improvement where relevant. You will be required to issue reports to the Board and for quarterly Townhalls.
Please note that you will be overlapping with the Commercial Director on both sides of the fixed-term maternity cover.

Key responsibilities
• Line management; motivating, nurturing and growing where relevant an ambitious Sales team.
• Ensure sales/financial targets are met/exceeded on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Oversight and ultimate responsibility for all Artiq client relationships.
• Trouble-shooting, client management support and strategy on key client accounts across all sectors.
• Regular reporting to the Board on the performance of the Sales team and on key department metrics and KPIs.
• Contributing to Senior Management Team meetings.
• Overseeing the continued growth and development of the department.
• Being active and present in the Company, working from the office and when relevant with our teams/clients on client sites.
• Overseeing special projects and entry to new markets where relevant.

• Monthly 121 meetings with reports.
• Holiday/sickness approvals.
• Fielding HR related issues, either relating directly to your reports, or to their team and wider team relationships.
• Reporting to Senior Management Team on progress.

Wider team includes:
• Hospitality Art Consultant
• Workplace Art Consultant x2
• Marketing Executive

Oversight and Management of the Sales and Marketing teams:
• Attending Monday, Tuesday and Friday department meetings.
• Run the weekly sales meetings including high level report of business won, lost and in pipeline.
• Allocate all new business leads and project opportunities to suitable team members/department leads to ensure smooth client communication and fair resourcing across departments.
• Work with Marketing team on annual PR and social strategy, ensuring key targets are met/exceeded.
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with a high level of client satisfaction.
• Approve team spending per budget.
Client relationship management and strategy:
• Act as a key point of call for Consultants across all sectors to provide advice, guidance and trouble-shooting help on projects of all natures.
• Support Consultants to make best-case decisions regarding budget, timelines RFP documents and charges.
• Assist in the development of all RFPs, maintaining Artiq’s standards and ensuring key deadlines for major projects and clients are met.
• Work with the CEO to manage any specific or major issues with proactive and transparent communication at all times.
Regular reporting to the Board on the performance of the Sales and Marketing teams and on key department metrics and KPIs:
• Progress against monthly/quarterly/annual targets.
• Scorecard reporting (monthly) to CEO on sales, rental sales and client satisfaction.
• Progress against departmental ‘135’ goals and actions.
Events and networking:
• Ensure key events are attended, budgeted for and attended by the team, ensure they are meeting KPIs for networking and strategic partner building
• Working with CEO/CEO’s EA to ensure that tickets and tables have been purchased in advance for key pre-agreed annual events across all sectors and that relevant guests and team attendees have been confirmed.
Oversee Artiq Experience:
• Ensure all events are profitable, useful and adhere to Artiq’s brand and values.
• Oversee smooth delivery of all events; business development activities and client ‘Artiq Experience’ events.
• Work with Art Collections team and Business Developer to understand pipeline of events, relevant attendees and help ensure positive outcomes.
Contributing to Senior Management Team meetings:
• Attend twice monthly meetings with Senior Management Team.
• Work closely with the Management team.
• Attend quarterly meetings with the Senior and Management team.
