We put the power of contemporary art to play outside the traditional
gallery space. This creates more opportunities for artists, more art experiences
for people, and is fostering a sustainable arts economy in which creatives
can grow and thrive.

CEO
Patrick McCrae’s wish in founding Artiq was to create a new breed of art agency: one that gave artists a wider platform and a better deal by putting the power of contemporary art to work in settings outside galleries, such as workplaces and hospitality environments.
He set up Artiq in 2009. Under Patrick’s leadership and without external funding, it has become one of Europe’s leading art agencies, demonstrating the viability of the cultural economy. Artiq has paid more than £5 million to artists in the last
three years, built a roster of thousands of practitioners, and completed projects in 20 countries.
