Artiq’s art collection for The Hoxton, Shoreditch forms part of an interiors refresh in honour of the hotel’s 20th anniversary. Developed in collaboration with Ennismore's in-house design team Aime Studios, the collection responds to a renewed material and colour palette inspired by Shoreditch’s creative heritage, the neighbourhood that first shaped the brand’s distinctive design approach.
Installed across all 210 guest rooms, Artiq’s curation pays tribute to the area’s rich cultural and industrial legacy. References to textile production and timber craft are reinterpreted through a contemporary visual lens, with works selected for their tactile qualities, layered compositions and expressive use of surface.
Integrated into the fabric of each room, the artworks add depth without distraction, fostering a cohesive and considered atmosphere that feels connected to its surroundings. The result is a collection that offers guests a subtle but distinctive sense of place. Through bold colour, expressive mark-making and material experimentation, it celebrates Shoreditch’s past while remaining firmly rooted in its present-day creative identity.

Euan Evans is a London-based artist working across printmaking, drawing and sculptural processes. His practice is defined by a sensitivity to surface, building compositions that echo architectural forms and material environments.
Drawing inspiration from the The Hoxton’s interiors and the surrounding urban landscape, Euan’s work subtly references the area’s textile heritage while engaging with its contemporary creative identity. Through a layered visual language, he reflects the density of the neighbouring streets, allowing colour and form to accumulate in ways that feel almost sedimentary, building slowly over time.

‘It’s wonderful to have these two works featured at The Hoxton, Shoreditch. Both pieces explore themes of travel, discovery, and the idea of a personal archive through the immediacy of photography, linocut, and ink drawings on woodblock. It’s especially meaningful to think of these works being encountered by people passing through the city, travellers and explorers in their own right.’
