How we work with artists
Artiq is more than just an art platform; it is a catalyst for artists' growth and success. Unlike traditional platforms that offer artists exposure without pay, we guarantee fair financial reward every time we show your work.
With our pioneering art rental model, artists receive a regular income without the need to sell. We recognise the value of your work and aim to establish a stable economic foundation in which your creativity can thrive. This commitment to fair pay has resulted in over £5m paid to artists and makers in the last three years alone.
For artists looking to advance their careers and connect with a global audience, we offer an unparalleled platform of support and opportunity. To cultivate your creativity and talent, here’s a few things we offer artists (that isn’t money).

1. A thriving community
For over a decade, Artiq has been dedicated to supporting creatives, especially in the early stages of their careers. We've built one of the most exciting artist networks in the UK, with artists of all ages, backgrounds, career paths and creative practices. From artist drinks to exclusive exhibition tours, our social events create a vibrant community where artists can exchange ideas and support one another. The connections made between our artists have flourished into group exhibitions, artistic collaborations and lasting friendships.

2. Access & exposure
Our network extends far and wide, curating for luxury hotels, dynamic workplaces and public programmes. By working with us, you'll have the opportunity to connect with institutions, brands and businesses all around the world. Exhibiting with us puts your work in front of global audiences and potential buyers within the arts sector and beyond.
Beyond earnings from leasing or sales, our series of bespoke arts programming includes further opportunities to extend your network by joining panel discussions, participating in artist talks, and hosting creative workshops. Centred around your practice, these opportunities are always fully compensated

3. Development & growth
We care about our artists and want to see you succeed. Through mentorship opportunities, skill-sharing sessions and portfolio reviews, our artists have regular chances to learn from each other and from industry professionals.
We also have a dedicated team of professional art handling technicians and curators who expertly frame, install, and store art every day. We're not gatekeepers; we share everything we know with our artists, from how to best store your art to guidelines around pricing.

4. Exclusive residencies
Last year, we launched our first artist residency. Available exclusively to our artists, this programme offers invaluable space and time to grow your creative practice. For its inaugural year, Charlotte Aitken used the space to push the boundaries of her practice and created a unique body of abstract works inspired by the Pump House’s peaceful location
The next residency is scheduled for October, with submissions opening later this summer. This is a testament to our commitment to supporting and nurturing emerging talent in sustainable ways.

5. Risk management and support
By taking on the risk of installation and insurance, we allow artists to focus solely on their creative process. Artists can create without the constant worry of financial return, assured that Artiq provides a viable platform for their work. This comprehensive support system empowers artists to manage their careers effectively and focus on what really matters: making art.
