Throughout our many years as a business, we've seen first-hand the immense impact engaging with art can have on businesses. We also know collaborations between the arts and other sectors are crucial in future-proofing the creative industries as it open up new funding routes when traditional forms of patronage have either pulled back or stopped.
That's why we launched Artiq Annual. Available for free online and printed in a limited edition, it is a yearly published collection of stories highlighting the importance of art outside the traditional gallery space, the need for more diverse role models within the arts whose careers can inspire the next generation of creatives, and show the tangible returns businesses can see when working with artists in the right way.
We're very excited to say that we're working on the second volume of Artiq Annual, launching in February 2024 and during this process, we've been looking back to the launch of Volume 1.
In February this year, we celebrated the first-ever issue of Artiq Annual with a bang! With us was a fantastic mix of artists, arts professionals and people from a wide range of businesses, cultural institutions, charitable organisations and educational bodies; all have in common the desire to foster a more sustainable creative economy in which artists can thrive and creative careers can be built.

The highlight of the evening was an inspirational panel talk, Creating impact with Culture: The Importance of a Sustainable Creative Economy and how it benefits us all. We had the pleasure of hosting as our panellists Samantha Jade (Saff) Williams, Curatorial Director at Brookfield Properties Europe; Sian Bird, Head of Cultural Partnerships at Wellcome Trust; visual artists Cyrus Mahboubian and Aisha Seriki, chaired by our co-founder Patrick McCrae.
The panellists shared their stories on how creativity has shaped their careers, from finding their way into the creative industries despite deterrence to how global businesses investing in creativity see their productivity soar. Throughout the conversation, there was an emphasis on the importance of cross-sector collaborations, showing just how much creativity and culture can impact advancements in other domains, from health to urban planning.
