2025 Winner Zoë Wilkinson
We are delighted to share that Zoë Wilkinson has been awarded the 2025 Artiq x The Pump House Residency.
This residency, now in its third year, is offered exclusively to artists within the Artiq network and provides a unique opportunity to spend a week creating at The Pump House art studio in Misterton. The studio is fully equipped, featuring a historic Victorian print press, and is lovingly run by artists Nicholas Pryke and Claire Elliott, whose dedication to supporting emerging talent continues to shape the residency’s spirit.
Following a competitive open call, Zoë Wilkinson was selected for the 2025 residency and will have the chance to develop new work in an inspiring environment that champions experimentation and artistic growth. They join an inspiring cohort of past awardees, including Charlotte Aiken (2023) and Valerie Kuzina (2024).
Zoë Wilkinson says:
"I am drawn to the Pump House because of its proximity to the natural world. As a British Caribbean artist born and raised in the UK, my work endeavours to create an imagined homeland between Guyana and Britain. The Pump House offers a unique opportunity for me to explore the relationship with land and water, and I am incredibly grateful to participate in this residency."
Nic & Claire from The Pump House Art Studio says:
"We’re thrilled that Zoë Wilkinson has been selected for this year’s Artiq x The Pump House art residency. We look forward to seeing how the experience sparks new ideas and helps to fuel her creative journey."
Gabriella, Artists Engagement Manager at Artiq says:
"We’re delighted to welcome Zoë as this year’s Pump House Residency artist. As a recent graduate, her thoughtful and visually compelling work deeply resonated with the program's landscape and dedication to supporting emerging artists. We’re looking forward to how this residency may inspire Zoe's evolving practice."
Through this ongoing partnership, Artiq and The Pump House continue to champion experimentation, creativity, and the development of artists at pivotal moments in their practice. We look forward to sharing updates from the residency in the months ahead and to seeing the new work that emerges from this year’s residency.
