Cyrus Mahboubian

Cyrus Mahboubian is a British artist known for his contemplative approach to photography and continued use of analogue materials, especially polaroid. His process is intentionally slow, a response to the increasing influence of technology in our lives.

The works have a timeless, atmospheric aesthetic, and their small size demands the viewer's attention, creating an intimate - and contemplative - viewing experience.

The photographs are captured while walking through remote landscapes, from the Cotswolds to America's West Coast. Sometimes combined in collage, the depictions of nature are both figurative and abstract, communicating a sense of place and of wonder.
