Georgie McEwan is a London-based artist working across painting and spatial design. Her practice begins with collecting overlooked fragments from the everyday – shadows, patterns, architectural details and discarded forms – which become an evolving archive for making. Through collage, painting and spatial experimentation, Georgie rearranges these familiar elements into compositions where scale shifts, perspectives warp and the boundaries between two and three dimensions dissolve.
Drawing on her background in architecture, she approaches composition as a process of spatial enquiry, while using play, chance and material experimentation to move beyond the discipline's conventions. Layered paint, cut paper and found objects allow ideas to emerge through making, embracing unexpected relationships and imperfect forms.
