Lydia Smith is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the shifting relationship between physical and digital experience. Working across sculpture, works on paper and digital media, she investigates how human identity is shaped by the systems, technologies and beliefs that connect us. Installed in our collections for luxury lifestyle brands, global law firms and CFC Underwriting, Smith's works bring a sense of presence and contemplation to the spaces they inhabit.
Beginning each work without a fixed outcome, Lydia embraces intuition as a central part of her process. Through clay, she develops organic, flowing forms that emerge through an ongoing dialogue between material, instinct and reflection. Once formed, her sculptures are translated through a hybrid digital process, where scans generate visual distortions and misreadings become active collaborators in the work, allowing each translation to inform the work's next evolution.
