Harnessing the power of cutting-edge technologies, James Rogers’ work explores figuration in the post-digital realm, navigating the intersection of the digital and physical worlds.
James's practice revolves around the use of new technologies, to create artwork that not only
honour the relationship between humans and machines, but which also, navigate the
digital-physical landscape.
His self-built printing machine has been hacked to extrude entire blocks of clay into coils, melting and constructing wax for casting in bronze, or when fitted with a drawing utensil - allow James to connect his sculptural investigations to his works on paper as the mechanical pathways become depicted in lines.

His self-built printing machine has been hacked to extrude entire blocks of clay into coils, melting and constructing wax for casting in bronze, or when fitted with a drawing utensil - allow James to connect his sculptural investigations to his works on paper as the mechanical pathways become depicted in lines.
His work explores connection and dependency and how these tendencies are mirrored in our technological networks, then fragmented or even broken as they translate into digital information, physical emotions, and back again.
In the spring of 2023, Artiq leased a body of work by James, including two new sculptural commissions, for a 12-month-long exhibition and residency at EQT London.
