Artiq’s collection for Six Senses London at The Whiteley is an immersive, building-wide narrative that unites historic heritage with a contemporary soul. Responding to the landmark’s architecture and interior identity, the predominantly commissioned collection unfolds as a sensory journey defined by texture, tone, and atmosphere.
Drawing on The Whiteley’s legacy as an “emporium of the senses,” the curation brings together London-based artists whose practices foreground process, sustainability, and material intelligence. From guestrooms to public spaces and the spa, the collection embodies the Six Senses ethos of environmental awareness and holistic wellness.
Layered surfaces and natural palettes invite moments of introspection while subtle references to geology, textiles, and artistic gesture echo the building’s storied past. The result is a quietly dynamic dialogue between eras, a modern renaissance that enriches the guest experience through intentional moments of pause, discovery, and renewal.

Featured within the collection is London-based, Mexican artist Ana Benavides. Recognised as one of Artiq’s "Ones to Watch" in Artiq Annual Volume 2, her work now holds a place of prominence in Six Senses' Alchemist’s Library, as well as Artiq’s art rental collections for EQT, CFC Underwriting, and a leading Global Law Firm.
Rich in colour and texture, Ana’s layered paintings are a masterful blend of striking visuals and conceptual depth, drawing on organic forms to explore identity, memory, and perception. Her meticulous attention to detail and deep understanding of the nuances of paint perfectly align with Six Senses' focus on material intelligence, offering guests a moment of renewal and discovery that echoes the sensory journey of the wider curation.

‘My practice is rooted in translating emotional landscapes into visual forms, often through layered colour and fluid movement. Seeing these works installed at The Whiteley has been incredibly special, it feels as though they’ve taken on a new life, connecting with the space and inviting a more immersive experience for viewers.’
